The Silver Panda
Brilliant uncirculated silver Pandas Coins are one of the most popular and affordable ways to collect. They are large enough to make it easy to appreciate the beauty of the design that differs each year.
The silver Pandas were also minted in sufficiently large enough quantities that prices are generally competitive. That does not, however, mean that these coins are merely bullion pieces. The earlier coins are not at all easy to locate. Assembling a collection of high-grade Pandas can also be challenging, as some strikes are decidedly better than others. These factors makes collecting the entire run of silver Pandas quite interesting and suggests that prices may continue to appreciate as more collectors discover this lovely series.
There are several varieties within the 1 oz. Silver Panda series. This is to be expected knowing how many different dies had to be used to strike these bullion coins. I believe the design details of each Panda along with the concept of changing the Panda design each year is what has helped the Silver Panda program continue to grow.
