15 Day Self-Drive African Safari

15-day - Self drive – Sand Safari
Central Kalahari, Okavango Delta, Chobe, Lake Kariba, Mana Pools.
South Africa, Botswana, Zimbabwe
Day-1 – Tolwe
Early morning we depart to Tolwe.
Brunch & Dinner
Day-2 – Kalahari Wilderness
After coffee we start moving towards Groblersbrug border post.
From their, to Palapye up to Orapa and Rakops in a Western direction until we hit
the two track sand road that will take us to the Central Kalahari.

Day-3 – Maun
With first light we do a game drive through the Kalahari Bushveld, looking for
Lion and other plains game.
After brunch we pack the vehicles, and take the road through private farms
straight to Maun.

Day-4 – Moremi
After n nice cup of coffee, we drive from Maun to Moremi Game Res.
We enter the park through South gate and make our way through sand and bush
to Xakanaxa near “ Third Bridge “

Day-5 – Moremi
Stil in Moremi area at Xakanaxa, looking for the Big-5

Day-6 – Savuti
We pack our vehicles, and start our day with a game drive through the North-
eastern parts of Moremi, before we move through North Gate into the Mababe
Depression, where a two track sand road will lead us to Savuti Camp.
It’s at this camp where
I have counted 23
hyenas.

Day-7 – Chobe
With Savuti’s sand still between our toes, we enter the Chobe National Park,
“a valley of a 1000 Elephantsâ€
Tonight we stay next to the Chobe River.

Day-8 – Chobe
Still in the Chobe, trapped between bush and river, a two track sand road takes
us to the unpredicted wonders of Nature

Day-9 - Vic falls
With sunrise in the East we move our way through dust and sand towards the
main road, witch leads us to Kasane.
Refuel our vehicles, and do a little shopping, before we go through the border
near Vic Falls to Zimbabwe. Tonight we stay in the Elephant Hills Hotel.
Day-10 – Milibizi – Lake Kariba.

We depart after dinner to Lake Kariba - Mlibizi

Day-11 – Kariba Ferry
Early morning we pack the vehicles, getting ready for our 24-hour cruise along
the 280km stretch of Lake Kariba, on board the Sealion.
3-meals are included on board of the Sealion
Or
we drive via 4x4 roads around Lake Kariba through the Matusadona Nat Park.
Brunch & Dinner
Day-12 – Mana Pools
We’ll arrive approximately 08h00 at Kariba, do some shopping, and hit the road
to Mana Pools, this time next to the Zambezi River.

Day-13 – Mana pools
Still in Mana Pools, today we either, go for a game drive, or you just hang around
camp with a drink

Day-14 – Bulawayo
After an early coffee, we leave Mana Pools with tears in our eyes straight to
Bulawayo, tonight we stay in a Lodge.
Day-15 – Tolwe
From Bulawayo we travel to Plumtree border post, in to Botswana.
In Francistown we can enjoy lunch, whereafter we travel towards Groblersbrug
border post to South Africa, tonight we stay in Tolwe again.

AAFY reserves the right to chance the Itinerary for the Safety of the clients.
Including;
1. 13-nights camping in rooftop tent on 4x4.
2. 1-night Elephant Hills Hotel.
3. 1-night Lodge – Bulawayo.
4. Toyota 4x4 for 2-persons from Afri-trax.
5. 2-meals per day with snacks – provided. (where indicated)
6. Water and juice.
7. Fees at Border posts (Botswana en Zimbabwe)
8. Guides and Chef.
9. Guides vehicle with kitchen and cutlery.
Excluding;
1. Fuel
2. Restaurant meals at Vic Falls and Lodge in Bulawayo.

Accommodation
We make use of tent accommodation and carefully selected Lodge and Hotel accommodation to satisfy your needs. The average safari will consist mostly of camping, as it is the most exiting way to experience Africa.
AAFY will take care of all your accommodation before and after the safaris.
Meals
All meals on safaris are included in package.
Guides
We only employ well-trained, registered guides.
Travel
AAFY will take care of all your travel requirements. This includes airport transfers as well as transport to and from the airport.
All our vehicles have a Certificate Of Fitness.
